As we near the end of the year, RED Construction Group takes a moment to reflect on past projects. The unique 77-room, four-storey Ruby Lucy Hotel, near Waterloo station, particularly stands out.
RED brought to life the vision of a ‘carnivalesque bolthole’, and the hotel marked the UK debut of the Munich-based brands ‘lean luxury’ concept and philosophy. Taking inspiration from the fairs, markets and theatre performances that historically took place in and around the Southbank area, the designers translated these themes into the bedroom décor and interiors.
The expert team successfully navigated creating a basement space, not an easy task in a central London location, to deliver this creative and technically diverse project. The reinforced concrete frame structure was completed with steel from the fourth level to the roof. At the same time, the striking outer brickwork façade seamlessly integrates with the unique environment of the Lower Marsh area.
RED Construction celebrates The Ruby Lucy Hotel, a hidden gem to discover and admire.
