The RED project team has achieved practical completion for the £1m Stage 1 works at the Axtell House site, in the heart of the West end, for E&A.

Works included the demolition of the upper three storeys of the six storey office building along with the entire main core and lift shaft down to the existing basement level. Further elements of the existing structure have been removed in preparation of the new.

Temporary works have been installed to allow for the new construction to be carried out efficiently and economically along with access scaffolding and loading platforms. Finally new piles  have been constructed from a platform 3m above the basement level to ensure access through a very confined site. 

All of the works had been carried out and completed whilst the ground floor restaurant unit remained in full operation.
