Last Tuesday, we celebrated the topping out of 82 Hurst Road, East Molesey, marking an exciting milestone in this new-build senior living development under a continued partnership with The Sheppard Trust.
This development began just four weeks after the completion of the Royal Cambridge Home at 84 Hurst Road, which we delivered in Autumn 2024. 82 Hurst Road will deliver a 60-bedroom facility with high-quality apartments, communal areas, landscaped gardens, and parking, with completion scheduled for June 2026. The ceremony was a great opportunity to mark this milestone with the team and project partners. RED Construction’s Managing Director, Mark Iori and Linda Davis from The Sheppard Trust gave speeches celebrating the progress made, while the topping out was marked by hammering a pre-fitted nail to secure a roof slate. Guests joined in by signing the lift shaft, and commemorative gifts were presented to The Sheppard Trust and project partners. Adding a historic touch to the event, we invited a town crier to help celebrate the milestone. Particularly special was the discovery of four clay bottles during excavation, which were engraved and presented as part of the ceremony, connecting the new development to the history of the site. The event concluded with refreshments nearby, allowing everyone to reflect on the progress and teamwork that make projects like this possible.
This topping out marks an important step towards creating modern, comfortable, and functional homes for residents, while celebrating the collaboration and dedication behind the build.
