#TeamRED rows for a cause!

Rowing for a cause, Team RED took to the Thames last Wednesday as part of this year’s #OarsomeChallenge, raising funds for London Youth Rowing (LYR) – a charity that helps people from underserved communities unlock their potential through sport.

The event, held annually, spans three days, with our crew joining mid-week to take on the full 16-mile route from Greenwich to Chiswick. It’s a unique challenge, one that’s physically demanding, but it also offers a chance to take in some of London’s most iconic riverside sights along the way. The row finished in Chiswick, where teams came together to celebrate their efforts. A fantastic way to support charity, have fun, and connect with others across the industry. This year’s challenge has raised £30,000 in support of LYR’s Active Youth Southwark programme, which works with local schools and community groups to engage young people in regular physical activity and develop life skills that go far beyond the boat. By making rowing more accessible, LYR fosters confidence, discipline, and teamwork in those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to get out on the water.

While Team RED may not have been among the frontrunners this time, they brought energy, teamwork, and commitment to the course and most importantly, helped make a difference. Well done to everyone involved, and of course a big thank you to our sponsors VKE Group, GS Spilling, Ambient Electric & FP McCann.
