40 Broadway Topping Out Ceremony

Our London team gathered to celebrate a significant milestone in the construction of 40 Broadway, a 130,000 sq ft Grade-A office development situated in the heart of Westminster.
The topping out ceremony marked the completion of the building’s structure, bringing the project one step closer to its grand opening, scheduled for December 2025.

Following tradition, the ceremony took place on the building’s highest point, where guests enjoyed panoramic rooftop views gazing out over London’s most iconic landmarks, including St James’s Park and Westminster Abbey. The clear skies and warm sunshine made the views even more spectacular, adding to the sense of celebration and achievement.

To mark the completion of the building’s structure, speeches were delivered by key figures involved in the project. Our CEO, Graham Sturge MCIOB, Executive Director Ian Hopkinson, and James Burchell, client and co-founder of Tellon Capital LLP, took the opportunity to express their gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the project’s success. Their words acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the entire team – from architects and engineers to contractors and stakeholders – whose collective efforts have brought this project to life.

The ceremony also featured the traditional concrete pour and ceremonial steel signing, a longstanding tradition at such milestones, where all attendees were invited to participate in commemorating the achievement. This symbolic act celebrated the collective effort behind the project and made everyone present a part of its legacy.

Adding a historical touch, two characters dressed as Henry VIII and a Jester brought the event to life, with Henry VIII fittingly opening the ceremony. As Westminster was a key center of power during his reign, RED Construction wanted to pay homage to the area’s rich history and significance, highlighting its enduring influence on London’s political and cultural landscape.

This event marked a key milestone in the journey of 40 Broadway, and we are incredibly proud of the progress made so far. As we move closer to completion, we look forward to delivering a world-class office space that combines modern amenities, sustainability, and a deep respect for the area’s rich heritage.
